These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and MenMyParents (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the MenMyParents mobile application and website at menmyparents.com. By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms are published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 of India, and are governed by Indian law.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Parents (“Maa/Papa” users) may be any adult age. Accounts are created by the adult child and a parent joins via invitation.
- You represent that the information you provide is true and accurate.
2. The service
MenMyParents provides a daily ritual app for Indian families. The current features are:
- Subah Ka Salaam — one-tap morning check-in
- Live presence indicator for parent activity
- Maa Theek Hai — daily wellbeing tap with missed-tap alerts
- Maa Ki Awaaz — voice memory vault with weekly prompts
- Aaj Kya Khaya — food-photo and voice message thread
- Ghar Ka Calendar — shared festival and birthday calendar
We may add, modify, or remove features at our discretion with reasonable notice.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Parents sign in via phone-number OTP. Children sign in via Google.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use by emailing support@menmyparents.com.
4. Subscription and payment
- Core features are free. Premium features (such as Maa Shield at ₹199/month) require a subscription.
- All subscriptions are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. We do not accept payments via any other channel inside the app.
- Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, managed through your Google Play account.
- Refunds are governed by the Google Play refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
- Prices are inclusive of applicable GST.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or violates any person's privacy
- Impersonate any other person or misrepresent your affiliation with any family member
- Use the app for any commercial or surveillance purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Upload malware, viruses, or any harmful code
- Violate the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any applicable Indian law
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the voice recordings, photos, and calendar entries you upload (“Your Content”). By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the service for you and your family members.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Our content and intellectual property
The MenMyParents name, logo, designs, software, and all app content are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the service available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, network issues, or events beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss caused by such unavailability.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. MenMyParents is not a medical, emergency, or surveillance service. Missed check-in alerts are convenience features only and must not be relied upon for medical or emergency response. In an emergency, call the national helpline 112.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Indian law, our total aggregate liability arising from or related to your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress.
11. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time via the Account Deletion page or app Settings screen.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms or applicable law, with notice where reasonably practicable.
- Upon termination, your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Grievance redressal
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer. See our Grievance Officer page for details.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, subject to applicable consumer-protection laws.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
